My passion for social media emerged when I got my first iPhone. During my high school years, I lived for letting my, “phone eat first,” “spamming” all of my friend’s Instagram stories, and never ever EVER leaving a new location before posting it on a social platform. As I grew up, specifically in 2018, I learned it could be possible to make a career out of all my activities surrounding social media. This was when I decided to attend the Savannah College of Art & Design. My greatest decision was to pursue a BFA in Social Strategy & Management. While doing so and taking so many advertising courses, I developed a soft spot for it, which led to my decision to pursue a minor in Advertising Art Direction. These two ended up being my perfect match, generating social media content that was very well-strategized, thought-out, designed, and ultimately advertised.
Home, the Dominican Republic.
Although one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, growing up in the Dominican Republic had its downsides. A minimal amount of degree options meant having a low chance of pursuing an actual career surrounding social media as I dreamed of. Being able to do it at SCAD Savannah opened the door for tremendous opportunities for my social media dream career. Little did I know that this experience would also make me a more creative, passionate, understanding, and hard-working person. I have grown in ways I never imagined I could.
